Upcoming Presentation on CATHOLIC FICTION

  • What are the vital ingredients that make a work of fiction “Catholic”?
  • How do these ingredients influence the way Catholic writers tell their stories?
  • Can works of Catholic fiction guide, encourage, and challenge us in living the Catholic faith today?
Dr. Margaret Turek, Associate Professor of Theology and Spirituality at St. Patrick’s Seminary and University in Menlo Park, will address these questions in her talk, "Looking at Catholic Fiction," which will be hosted here at Pauline Books & Media on Thursday evening, April 24th, at 7:00p.m. She will be exploring the works of Catholic writers like Flannery O'Connor, Graham Greene, Georges Bernanos, and others.

So please mark your calendars and join us! Whether you prefer mystery or dogma, adventure or history—this lecture will provide you with new insights into the works of some of the great Catholic writers.

“I’m no theologian, but all this
[Catholic doctrine and practice]
is vital to me.”
--Flannery O'Connor
