Looking for some Marian inspiration this May?

Yesterday, May 13th, marked 92 years since the first of the Blessed Mother's apparitions at Fatima. At a Mass celebrated there for the anniversary of the apparitions, the Cardinal Archbishop spoke about Mary as being a guiding light for us during current times of global economic crisis and disorientation: "Mary helps to keep alive the attitudes of attention, service, gift and gratuitousness," he said. "With the example and the help of the Virgin, Christian communities continue the mission of bringing [people] to an encounter with Christ, and because of this, we invoke her again as the Star of the new evangelization."

Since May is a month devoted to Mary, and in light of yesterday's feast day, you
may be interested in one of our newer titles at Pauline Books & Media. The Shepherds of Fátima draws from historical sources and eyewitness accounts to tell the captivating tale of Mary’s appearances at Fátima, Portugal, in 1917. The author, Fr. Fernando Silva, leads readers into the story by exploring the lives and experiences of the three shepherd children—Lucia dos Santos and her cousins, Blessed Jacinta Marto and Blessed Francisco Marto. This well-researched account reads like a novel; you don't want to miss out on such a great read!
